Capsicums - also known as bell peppers and sweet peppers - are colourful, mild peppers that are not only a beautiful addition to the summer garden, they are a great source of antioxidants and vitamin C. Almost all varieties start off green then ripen to their specific colours such as red, yellow or orange. They thrive in warm summers, but like most plants they need some afternoon protection from the harsh sun.
